June 2018 Photo Round Up

Can’t believe that the first half of 2018 is already finished and we are closer to 2019 than 2017. June was a month of travelling for me and a pretty decent barbeque at my place.

Singapore Sunrise

Sunrise is definitely the best time of day!! Sleeping in and missing these sort of views is just nuts! (Most of the time that is)

Singapore Barbeque

Not a bad BBQ. 20 odd people, sharing good wine, food and stories. Looking forward to my next BBQ.

Golden Dragon Restaurant – Taj Samudra Colombo

I visited the Golden Dragon Restaurant in the Taj and was not really sure what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. Great Szechuan food and service, though the wine list was a little light on. Only issue was that the size of the serves, all of the serves in the photos were SMALL. The price was not bad either.

Burlamacco Singapore

Burlamacco is one of our favourite haunts in Singapore, always a great spot for dinner, but our Sunday lunches there have, at times, been “legendary”. Helps that the staff, especially Elgin Vincent, looks after very well and the food is pretty good!

Ho Chi Minh City

La Barca Singapore

La Barca was the first restaurant I “found” in Singapore a bit over 6 years ago and I have been going back there ever since. Another good spot for dinner, it is too popular on weekends for a Sunday lunch. Patrick Miranda and Giuseppe always make sure I am looked after.

Colombo Sri Lanka

The view from the Shangri-La Hotel in Colombo. Not a bad view…

Kaema Sutra Restaurant Shangri-La Hotel Colombo Sri Lanka

Kaema Sutra is definitely a place to visit when in Colombo, not the cheapest joint to eat at, but also no where near the most expensive around. Great local cuisine, check out the Menu. I liked the Spicy Mutton Curry, the hoppers (the strange looking things with egg in the middle) and the Mixed Meat Lamprais (the dish wrapped in the banana leaf). They also mix some interesting cocktails.

Any place that’s motto is “Keep Calm and Curry On” must be good.

Drinks

2018 Singapore National Day Practice

It is that time of year again, this year marks the 50th Birthday of the Singapore Air Force so they will be putting on a bit of a show. More pics to follow…

Raffles Hotel Singapore

The face-lift, tummy tuck and any other cosmetic surgery you can think of is nearly complete for the Grand Dame of Singapore, The Raffles Hotel.
