Day 9 – Cruising the Pacific Ocean En-route to Puerto Montt

Day 9 was a very relaxing day at sea, did nothing but relax by having a quiet day reading, cigar, coffee and then it was time for fun.

On the two cruises that I have taken with regent the have held a Bond Night. Basically it is a Bond Trivia Competition between the guests and the crew. It starts with a Martini, mine was a dry dirty Kettle One with 3 olives, then the fun starts.

To make the night more entertaining the dancers and singers put on a show, singing and dancing to the various Bond Themes.

On the first cruise I screwed up an answer, we still won, but this time I was able to contribute, positively, buy getting two of the harder questions right. The crew seemed to think that it was their turn to win (guess that they think that all the time), but the guests won about 14 to 6, the term is a thrashing!

After Bond it was time for pre-dinner drinks in the horizon lounge where the Natural Trio were playing. Always a few laughs.

We went to Compass Road for dinner tonight, and started with a Chilean Chardonnay, Caliterra Tributo Chardonnay 2011. Not bad for a chardonnay.

For entree I had a goat cheese tart, very nice

To accompany our main course we had a great bottle of Gaja Darmagi 2005 that I bought on board at the wine tasting we had earlier in the cruise.

Being such a good wine, it needed to be decanted, which our Sommelier, Ronald was very happy to do for us.

For my main I had pasta, it was a bit bland, so added a bit of fresh chili!

After dinner it was time to head to bed after such a relaxing day. Next Puerto Montt, and Whitewater Rafting.
