After leaving Cabo Frio we headed to north to Salvador de Bahia, but before our arrival in Salvador we had a relaxing day at sea. Not much to report other than a great sunset and some great wine.
Espresso Bump

My first espresso bump (espresso with tonic) on board the Splendor. Luckily for me the barista knows what an espresso with tonic is. I did get a few interesting looks from the other passengers and some of the crew.
Lunch

Ahi Tuna Steak Burger with cheese and fries. Not that healthy, pretty tasty though..

Dinner at Prime 7
Dinner in Prime 7 on this night was not really up to the standard that I nor my friends were expecting. The heirloom tomatoes were quite good, the steak tartar was a bit bland. The bone in rib steak I had was not a great cut, a fair bit of gristle, expected better.
The good thing about Regent is that they will do something about it, will give them a chance to rectify later in the cruise.
The Wine

2008 House of Arras Grand Vintage, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Tasmania, Australia
| Appearance: | Bright pale straw with a very tight bead |
| Nose: | Pleasant combination of toast, lemon zest, apple and citrus aromas |
| Palate: | Structured and balanced |
| Finish: | Medium-long |
| Oz’s Rating: | 4 out 5 A great drop. From my cellar |
2020 Massimo Deicas Tannat, Sierra de Mahoma – San José and Progreso – Canelones, Uruguay
| Appearance: | Deep crimson |
| Nose: | Enjoyable mix of jammy dark fruit, liquorice and a touch of vanilla aromas |
| Palate: | Bold with firm evolving tannins |
| Finish: | Medium-long finish |
| Oz’s Rating: | 3.5 out of 5 One to be cellared, drinking well now |

Thankfully the wine, service and company were great which made for a good meal.

Next up is Salvador de Bahia
