A wander around Venice at 7am-ish in the morning is a very different experience. No tourists, just the locals getting ready for the day. It was definitely my favourite wander of the trip.

Venice is a quiet place first thing in the morning.
St Marks Square
How much nicer is St Marks Square at 7:30am in the morning compared to after 10am…

Venice
Venice is definitely a place to visit, though not in July / Aug when it is hot and packed with tourists.
Staying in Venice was the right thing for us, made it a lot easier to explore the place and enjoy the less touristy areas of the place, especially the restaurants.
Getting up “early” to explore is also a good idea as you get to see a different side of the place.
I will return as there is more to do and I would like to see the place when it is not packed with tourists nor in the high 30’s C (over 100F).
Time to board the Azamara Pursit and say ciao Italia.

This is how it’s done! Get up early and beat the crowds. We did a Tower of London tour at 7am. Finished by the time the hords showed up! Cheers!
Yep.. About to write about (well soonish) about doing the same with the wall in Dubrovnik…
