Deep dark amber, amazing colour. Perfume of stewed apricots and Christmas cake spices. The palate is smooth, lush, yum, with a lovely medium-long finish.

Reminds me of my Grandmother's Christmas Pudding. Yum!

An amazing wine that shows why patience is rewarded.

An ok wine

Crimson red in colour, average aroma, nothing stands out. On the palate it is ok, firmer tannins than I would have expected for a merlot, but of heat and a medium-long finish

Name: Tyrrell's Wines HVD Late Bottling Trial
Year: 1999
Region: Hunter Valley, New South Wales, Australia
Varietal: Sémillon
Oz's Rating: 3.5 out 5

Needs a lot more time to evolve. The late bottling of the wine, it spent 12 years in a stainless vat before being bottled, has preserved it. If you tried this wine blind, it would taste like a 3 or 4 year old wine. It is good now, but, has a lot of upside. Patience is need yet again.

Think that the term here should be "Testing my patience!" or is it "Testing my will-power"
