Chingay Parade Fireworks

Below are the photos that I took from my balcony of the Chingay Parade Fireworks at the Singapore F1 Track.

What is Chingay? Until researching this post I had no idea either.

Chingay is translated from Mandarin zhuang yi (妆艺), which in Hokkien means “the art of costume and masquerade”. The Singapore Chingay Parade is the largest float and street performance parade in Asia, the first one was held in 1973. The parade is held each year on the first weekend of the Lunar New Year.

After the fireworks I tried my hand at a bit of “light painting”. These are the results, what do you think?
